Detailed Description of the Project

The Integral Project of Kastela Bay Protection covers the broader area of the city of Split and the towns of Solin, Kastela and Trogir. It is implemented through the following subprojects:

  • Split-Solin Sewerage System (250.000 PE)
  • Kastela-Trogir Sewerage System (160.000 PE)
  • Extension and Improvement of the Split-Solin-Kastela-Trogir Water Supply System (2,795 l/s)
  • Optimization of the system

The ECO Project comprises reconstruction of the sewage network and improvement and extension of the water supply system. It covers construction of structures for collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater under the sewage systems (sewer network, pipelines, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plant, submarine crossing, hydrotechnical tunnel, submarine outfall), as well as construction of facilities for improvement and extension of the water supply system (pumping stations, water reservoirs, pressure and gravity lines).
The systems have been projected with the capacity for up to 410,000 PE.

The Split-Solin Sewerage System and the Split-Solin-Kastela-Trogir Water Supply System have been fully completed. The Kastela-Trogir Sewerage System is under construction.
